Well in response to the last post, as you probably already know, the storm shifted to Houston (we were glad we weren't there anymore). The storm did affect us just not in the way of destruction. For me, every other person that came into the pharmacy last week was an evacuee from Houston and had lost their medication. It made things a little stressful because we had to call insurance companies right and left trying to get overrides so the patients wouldn't have to pay cash price for their meds. Also trying to get ahold of doctors in Houston to approve meds was a complete disaster, but we did what we could.
Ike's job was affected as well. For one thing traffic has been more troublesome with all the extra people. One day Ike told me that he saw emergency vehicles on there way down to help and they were stretched out on the freeway in 2 lanes as far as eyes can see. From ambulances to army trucks, he said that there must have been hundreds of them. Another way his job has been different is the company he works for has a big hub in Houston, and since they obviously can't sell and install systems there, they shipped about 20 of their sales reps up here, but only brought 2 techs that were only staying for the weekend. So needless to say Ike has been and still is crazy busy. He is scheduled for 4 jobs every day and sometimes they will throw in another.
So from now until we come home, which the date is tentatively set for Nov. 1st, we will be working our tails off. We can't wait to come home to non-90 degree or higher weather!!
